Job Purpose
To direct, plan and manage all activities to permit the efficient, safe and optimum operations of ENOC/EPPCO Retail Outlets. The role also focuses on the development and implementation of the Retail Business plan which involves being accountable to set and achieve sales and cost targets as part of the Overall Company Budget. Reports to the Retail Operations Manager and is also responsible within the region the profitability of the Retail outlets and for setting and achieving corporate standards and objectives in respect to:
Overall site standards (Forecourt, C-store, stand alone, Metro, Petrol Station, pop up stores and special projects)
Operational Excellence (Looking good, mystery shopper, cost saving)
Site Health, Safety, Security & Environmental standards (HSSE)
All Audit activities within Retail (Internal & External/HO and Retail outlets)
ISO 9001/2015, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 150001, HACCP,
Business Continuity & Risk Management.
The job holder is also the primary source of Marketing information including competitive activities, New business, and Future Development and Government initiatives.
Principal Accountabilities
Principal Accountabilities:
Operational Management of Retail Network (Forecourt, C-Store, Pronto , Bill Payments, Methods Of Payment (MOP) aggregators, Audits, Risk Management and Business continuity
Define and implementation of the overall site / customer service standards
Control of financial transactions at Retail outlets, control and monitor costing, analysis, performance, inventory/cash management, reporting on exception, sales/gross profit % on product and services plus direct/indirect expenses
Establish and develop position strategies through market research (customers and competitors)
Determine the site layout – which includes standardization of the C-Store and Forecourt Layouts across the network to minimize investment costs and to standardize operations
Develop and implement strategies for an annual development plan
Determine the annual Retail business unit plan for the Forecourt and C-store to maximize gross margins and achieve business plan targets, Control the 5
years business plan for gross margin contribution in coordination with Retail marketing.
Develop, plan and implement all sites standards for product presentation and stock control.
Leads the market study research studies of all current and potential players entering the UAE market
Assess and predict possible risks or business loss and work on ways to overcome/reduce them
Accountable to sustain fuel dry out and fuel transfers alterations at the minimum level as per agreed KPI by reviewing the monthly performance reported by the distribution team and propose corrective actions accordingly
Profitability:
Set, implement and achieve business plan targets at retail outlets which includes sales revenue, gross margin and operating cost targets for fuel and non-fuel business
Review of performance against budget of the region periodically including sites operating cost ratios. Develop and implement action plans accordingly to ensure achieving the target
Lead & plan annual budget efficacies for the accommodations, warehouse, transportation and rechargeable deliveries to sites
Develop activities that would benefit from publicity, advertising or local promotional activity to assist growth sales.
Develop and implement manpower plan
Develop and oversee Retail Staff competencies, annual departmental budgets, scorecard and manpower plans. Identify resources needed and conduct the recruitment process for positions within Retail Operations (HO/Retail Sites), conduction performance evaluations periodically, developing individual performance targets.
Assess training needs and requirements and promote learning and development designed to staff knowledge base and skill sets. Also ensure compliance with ENOC initiatives pertaining to Emiratization plan, skills development plans, staff engagement survey.
Team Leadership
Set individual performance objectives for the team and assist in achieving these targets through effective management, coaching, mentoring and motivation
Lead the retail team to achieve business plans including market share, sales, services, expenses, investment and operational objectives
Lead the development of team members growth and potential by assessing training and development needs through effective training plans
Develop team recognition schemes and incentives and enhance work culture as well as defining the roles and responsible
Developing Relationships & Communications:
Establish and maintain business relationship with Dealers, RTA, Municipality, Jaffza, civil defense, Dubai Police, Land department, Economic dept, Consumer rights, health authority, DEWA, FEWA, SEWA, Community centers & Free zones.
Additional Principal Accountabilities
Experience
Bachelor’s degree Business, Marketing or Finance with minimum 10-12 years’ experience in retail operations or similar field.
